The bumps in our journey.
Sometimes through our lives as we live on, we hit bumps. Call it
depression, anxiety, distress. It is definitely not pleasant. A sense of
hopelessness and no sense of direction. First of all we are not to be
guided by our emotions, especially if they are not under control. But we
are to be led by the Spirit of God. In " Jeremiah 17:9 it says, The
heart (meaning the emotions in this case) is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure. Who can understand it ? " I often hit these bumps and I
must wait on the Lord for His rescue. It says in " Isaiah 40:29-31 He
gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even
youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those
who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings
like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be
faint." And "Isaiah 35:3-4 also says, Strengthen the feeble hands,
steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, Be
strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution he will come to save you."Waiting sometimes is
the difficult part. God in all cases, we have to remember is always
trying to make us better. More like Him. We must ask ourselves when we hit
the bump, God what are you trying to show me with this, what do you want
me to change. He will answer you and you will know and if you do know, it must match what the
Bible says. When we wait on the Lord, we will receive the blessings we
read in these verses and grow stronger in the Lord. We will be much more
stable and especially when we are more consistent in our obedience. We
then create better habits of behavior and enjoy what God has for us. Being more like Christ.
Remember God is in control and allows things in our lives for two
reasons. One, if your not a believer. It`s to bring you to become a
believer, or two, If you are a believer, it`s to bring you closer to Him
and in turn make you more like Him. You see, it`s all about Him and the
sooner we realize that the better we will be and see things His way and
become more stable.
